Medinet allows patients to talk to a doctor online across Australia within minutes.

Many patients use Medinet to consult with their regular doctor and access medical advice, along with prescriptions, medical certificates, specialist referrals, pathology and more.

How does it work for you?

If a patient is in your pharmacy and needs a prescription, you can refer them to Medinet.

The patient can speak with an Australian registered GP within minutes via video or audio consultation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

If the GP determines it clinically appropriate to prescribe medication, the patient receives the script immediately in their app at the conclusion of the consult.

The pharmacist can then review the prescription and dispense if appropriate.

As a result, the patient receives the clinical care they need and you do not have to turn away patients without prescriptions.

Please note that GPs are not able to prescribe medicines in S8 and S4 + Appendix D in the Poisons Standards.

How we can work together

After consulting with a GP on Medinet, some patients are provided with a prescription and need a pharmacy to access their medication, many in after hours. There are number of ways Medinet can work with you to provide additional support to patients.

1. Medication delivery

We provide patients with the option of having their medication delivered and are always looking for more pharmacists to cover new geographical areas. You will receive a prescription from us and once the medication is dispensed, we will arrange for delivery of the medication. The process fits into your current workflow and is an avenue for you to offer additional services to your community.

2. Let your patients know about us

No doubt a patient of yours has been stuck before, where they require prescription medication, but you could not dispense it because they had run out of repeats or could not see their regular GP in time.

Via Medinet, a patient can speak to a GP within minutes and access a prescription if appropriate. You can then review the prescription and dispense if you deem it suitable.

We provide you with the digital or paper script aligned with your State’s legislative requirements. As a result, the patient receives the clinical care they need and you do not have to turn away patients without prescriptions.

3. Receive prescriptions for patient pick up from us

Patients using Medinet can elect to pick up their prescription from their local pharmacy. Let us know if you would like to be included in the list and can streamline the pick up process for your patients.
